Why do NASCAR and CH9RACING go hand-in-hand on the red carpet in Charlotte, North Carolina? Here’s why.

Charlotte, North Carolina is starting to look more and more like our NASCAR common denominator — a place where chapters close, new ones open, and where CH9RACING keeps finding itself standing on the red carpet among the sport’s best. And when you look at the journey that got us here, it all starts to make perfect sense.

A Friendship That Started in 2009 — Before We Even Knew It

Our earliest Charlotte connection tracks all the way back to 2009, when Nick Burton stood proudly at the NASCAR Awards after earning Rookie of the Year in Division 1 Super Late Models. Nick wasn’t just a competitor; he was an up-and-coming force in the sport. His drive, passion, and natural talent put him on a path that would eventually shape the future of CH9RACING.

From there, he chased the dream all the way into the NASCAR industry itself, joining Furniture Row Racing in 2017 and 2018 before moving to North Carolina and working with JGR and Martin Truex Jr. That experience, those years in the trenches of top-tier racing, became part of who he is today — a leader, a coach, and a voice in our headset that we trust without question.

Family First — The Heart Behind the Man

Nick could have stayed full-speed in the NASCAR world, but his heart had a different priority: his young family. He chose to be present, to build a life rooted in being a husband, a dad, and a family man.

That decision also opened the door to a new adventure — Mountain Side Mobile Detailing, a business he built from the ground up that has been thriving and expanding year after year.

From Facebook Messages to Champion Crew Chief

It’s crazy how fate works. Curtis and Nick were Facebook friends who didn’t actually know each other. A few simple messages about favorite teams and racing interests led to Curtis asking a question that would change everything:

“Would you ever be interested in coming to Colorado National Speedway and helping spot a few races?”
Nick said he’d talk to his wife and think about it. Months later, he reached back out and said he’d be willing to come out once in a while.
Once in a while became more often.
More often became every weekend.
And every weekend turned into something far bigger — family.

By 2024 Nick had become an invaluable part of CH9RACING, bringing new energy, new ideas, and new leadership to the team. We named him Crew Chief of CH9RACING, and in 2025 he became a CHAMPION Crew Chief for our team.

Nick and his family aren’t just teammates.
They’re not even just friends.
They are family — period.

Our First Charlotte Experience — A Moment We’ll Never Forget

In 2024, Curtis and the team experienced their very first NASCAR celebration in Charlotte after winning the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Racing Series Division II West Region Championship.

That trip opened our eyes to a whole new world — the people, the energy, the respect from the sport we love. We left with memories we knew we would carry forever.

We honestly didn’t think we’d be back again so soon.

But 2025 Had Other Plans. Big Ones.

With a season full of consistency, dedication, sweat, and relentless determination, CH9RACING captured both:

🏁 The Track Championship at Colorado National Speedway
🏁 A back-to-back Division II West Region NASCAR Championship

And just like that…
Charlotte called us back.

Tomorrow the team will be boarding a plane to celebrate once again among the sport’s best, representing Colorado, our families, our supporters, and every person who has believed in this team.

Another red carpet.
Another moment we’ll never forget.
Another proud chapter for CH9RACING.

A Championship Built by More Than Drivers

We want to thank every single sponsor — from day one partners to new supporters — who has helped CH9RACING reach this level. This championship belongs to you as much as it belongs to us.

To our team and crew members, thank you for everything you do.
This championship is because of you.
Your time, effort, passion, and commitment push us forward every single week.

To our families — thank you for the sacrifice, patience, and love. Without your support, none of this would ever happen.

To our fans — thank you for cheering us on at the track, online, and everywhere in between. We feel your support every single race.

Now… Time to Pack Our Bags

Charlotte, we’re coming back.
Stay tuned — pictures and updates will follow all weekend long.

CH9RACING is ready to celebrate, represent, and make Colorado proud once again.
